Springfield, MO – SRC Logistics, Inc. (SRCL) is pleased to announce it has achieved two million safe hours. SRCL celebrated this milestone on June 5th, recognizing the commitment and dedication of its employee owners in upholding a culture of safety. This achievement is a significant milestone in SRCL’s dedication to creating a safe and healthy workplace for its employee owners and customers.

Throughout 2023, SRCL has committed to enhancing its safety program, resulting in notable improvements and accomplishments. First, SRCL celebrated the opening of its newest warehouse in April 2023. This new warehouse provides SRCL’s owners and customers with a modern and safe working environment, setting the stage for improved efficiency and productivity.

The safety team at SRCL also enhanced efforts in ergonomics and injury prevention. The company invested in upgraded lifting devices to enhance ergonomics and minimize workman’s compensation cases. Despite increased production demands and a facility move, SRCL has successfully maintained its incident rate from the previous year. This accomplishment highlights the company's commitment to safety, even during times of growth and change.

Finally, SRCL’s safety team sought to improve the overall safety culture. The safety team expanded its safety committee membership and established subcommittees to focus on specific areas of improvement. These subcommittees included incident investigation, ergonomics and suggestions, audits and activities. The subcommittees all worked collectively to continuously enhance safety protocols.

To celebrate the accomplishment of reaching two million safe hours, SRCL organized a celebration on June 5th. The celebration included a catered lunch for all owners and included a raffle for prizes.

Currently, SRCL is ramping up training efforts to qualify for the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) in 2024. According to the Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the VPP recognizes employers and workers “who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for their respective industries.” By investing in comprehensive training programs, SRCL aims to exceed industry standards and demonstrate its dedication to creating a safe work environment.
